I’m presenting a work-in-progress of my duet titled Stuck in Time. Dancers Allie Lochary and Kara Griffin perform athletic and elegant movement with a touch of whimsy. Karl Green designed beautiful costumes inspired by the 1920′s and sound designer Michael Smith’s score weaves Fats Waller music with sound manipulation to create a unique soundscape.

I’m premiering When the World was Round a new solo where dynamic athleticism meets intimate velocity. I’ve emphasized physical invention, expressive clarity and detailed musicality to create a multi-sensory experience for the audience. Dancer Jason Aryeh, new to Greensboro via New York and Ghana, expertly dances this expressive solo. Percussionist and composer Sandy Blocker creates a powerful and haunting soundscore.
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 4,100 times in 2011. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 3 trips to carry that many people.
I am thrilled to announce that kearns dance project will be included in the next North Carolina Artist Directory!
The NC Arts Council dance panel reviewed the applications and evaluated them on the basis of artistic merit, quality and depth of experience, web presence and function, and communication skills. The directory will live on the Arts Council’s website in both on-line and .pdf formats. The council will be working on the directory over the next few months.
The directory is a valuable resource for a variety of organizations to hire artists to work in their communities. So…book us in 2012!!
